Privacy Policy

We at Server Yard demonstrate our commitment to our customers' privacy by providing this statement. We will do everything in our power to ensure your right to privacy in order to develop long lasting relationships with our customers that are built on trust.

When you sign up to use our services, we collect personally identifiable information about you. In order for you to be comfortable using our services, we feel you should fully understand what information we gather and how we use it.

What Information Do We Collect?

When you register for a Server Yard account, we collect your contact information, such as your name, email, address, fax and phone number.

When you use Server Yard's service, our system records information about your session, such as the dates and times, IP address information. We also track requests you make for information on Server Yard's products and services, and responses you provide to our surveys.

When you make a payment for services at Server Yard, we may keep a record of your payment information (such as credit card information) securely for recurring payments. In most cases, we use trusted third party payment services for your protection, WorldPay and PayPal, in which case Server Yard only keeps a record of your payment history (including payment confirmation IDs) without credit card numbers.

We also keep communications you have with Server Yard's support team via our Help Desk.

Use of Cookies:

Server Yard understands that many customers are concerned about cookies. We use cookies to help us improve our web site and web hosting services, and, most importantly, provide our existing customers with better personalized services and increased convenience.

What Do We Do With This Information?

We use this information to provide you with the best online experience possible. As you might expect, we use your contact information to contact you concerning your web hosting account and our company when necessary. We use information on your online sessions to allocate system resources and to ensure compliance with our AUP. Information on your communications with our support team is used to address the issues raised by your communications.

In addition, Server Yard may from time to time send out mailings regarding the operation of its services that it believes may be of interest to you.

We do not:

  • Violate your copyrights and intellectual property. Your web site is your own property.
  • Tell others that you are hosted by us, unless you give us permission to do so or provide a testimonial for posting on our web site.
  • Browse your web space, unless we believe there is a threat to our servers, our quality of service, our data security, others' sites and information, or violation of our AUP.
In special circumstances, we may share or disclose your information:

  • When reasonably necessary to protect the company's rights or property
  • In emergencies where someone's safety is at risk

However, it is important to be aware that any information you disclose in a public space such as chat rooms, bulletin boards, or domain registration information is freely available to anyone else visiting that space.

How Can I Correct or Update my Information?

You can update your information from your Customer/Billing Account Manager at any time. If you are an active affiliate, you may also update your information from your affiliate area.

What if I Leave Server Yard?

After you cancel your account and leave Server Yard, we will normally delete your personally identifiable account information twelve months after cancellation, unless we are under legal obligation to retain it. We may also retain it longer in the event of any billing or accounting irregularities, as long as is necessary to resolve the matter.
